Stan Smith Associates (SSA) was established in 1983 when Stan Smith, as a principal, left Kammeyer & Partners to pursue his dream of starting his own company. Within a short time, Stan built an impressive portfolio and client list which put Stan Smith Associates on the map. Now with over 25 years with SSA and previous experience, Stan is confident that SSA can manage any task given to his company.
Stan Smith is a registered Landscape Architect. Mr. Smith graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 1978 with a degree in Landscape Architecture and with a minor in Ornamental Horticulture and Urban Planning. Stan is not only licensed in California, he is also a Registered Landscape Architect in the states of Arizona (#28102), California (#1833), Missouri (#LA-2003020536), Nevada (#299), New Mexico (#336), Texas (#1946), Utah (#5089114-5301), the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Board (CLARB) (#842) and the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Stan has been active in community affairs and has served on the Saddleback Area Coordinating Council as Chairman of the Planning Review Committee representing Lake Forest and Rancho De Los Alisos (El Toro).
As a past member of the Saddleback Valley Chamber of Commerce, Stan participated in the Business Industry Education Program. Mr. Smith worked with local high schools in developing information about design professions for students. Not only has he served on prestigious boards, Stan has been active within the Home Builders Council as a contributor and a writer for their quarterly newsletter. As a member of the California Parks and Recreation Society, Stan has participated in many redevelopment projects for municipalities. To further his talents, Stan also has a college level teacher’s certification and has previously taught classes at Santa Ana College and University of California, Irvine within the Landscape Architecture Development Departments. Stan is also a proud veteran and served six years with the Naval Reserve during the Vietnam era.
